Salvia rosmarinus
Plant Family: Lamiaceae
Rosemary in the Garden Ecosystem
Rosemary is an aromatic evergreen perennial shrub that is easy to grow and has a variety of culinary and medicinal uses. It is pest-resistant and deer-resistant too. It grows best in full-sun and well-drained soil and likes to dry out between watering. It is low-maintenance and fairly drought resistant once established, so it prefers a bit of neglect. Rosemary seldom needs supplemental fertilizer, and too much water can cause root root. Enjoy this lovely plant in teas, on roasted veggies, and in numerous other ways.
